Monday November 27th, 2017

Hey guys! Well, I´m still waiting for the pics from the elk hunt.... haha!

My toe is doing quite a bit better. I have a doctor´s appointment on Thursday, so we´ll see what he says. The cookies were amazing! There are still a few left. I have now read all of the letters, and yes, I was surprised by quite a few. Thanks for all the support!

Forest has always loved Mustangs!

This week we were contacting an apartment, and nobody opened the door. We had started from the top, and worked our way down. We were knocking on the last door when an SUV pulled up. I looked at my companion and said maybe she lives here? When she walked up to us she said "Hi elders!" in my mind I was like, member. She ended up telling us that she's been inactive for quite a while, but her husband isn't a member and wanted to talk with us. We sent an appointment and had a great lesson with them. He works all week, but has Sunday off. They said that they were going to go to church, but didn't end up going.

On Saturday were walking to an appointment and we contacted a guy walking in the other direction. His name is Eleazar. He's only 21 but he started asking us questions like, "When Jesus said in the Bible that He has other sheep that aren't of this fold, what did He refer to?" and "When Christopher Columbus came to the Americas, there were already people here. Where did they come from?" They were perfect questions for the Book of Mormon to answer. We shared a few scriptures with him to answer his questions then gave him the book and invited him to go to church; and he went! He's a person that has really been prepared by the Lord and I am grateful for the opportunity to help him find the correct path.

Gregorio's baptism went great! The sister missionaries also had a baptism, and they planned out everything. It was the first baptism I've had without a ton of stress attached to it. I felt really weird, but super happy! Gregorio was baptized by Brother Guillermo, and I was really happy because Gregorio's girlfriend went to his baptism as well. She hasn't showed any interest in the gospel before, but we hope that she'll start listening to us. We don't know where she lives, but she's at Gregorio's house a lot.

Have a great week!

Questions?

Dad: Being able to see and hear the people from different states of Mexico. The accents are quite a bit different.  (What is your favorite thing in Cabo?)

Mom: To trust more in the Lord.  (What have you learned from the trial of your toe?)

Holly: Listening  (What is the most important thing when teaching a lesson?)

Sam: Yeah. There's just about all the candy bars here. Especially because there are a lot of Americans here.  (Are you able to get any American candy bars besides the ones that we have sent you?)

Dylan: Pretty much the same thing.  (Do you do the same things every p-day or do you switch it up?)

Hey guys!

Wow! What a surprise! I was not expecting 2 huge bags! Thanks for all the letters and stuff. I really do appreciate all the support! It made me really happy.

All the letters and "stuff" from family and friends

The other day we were street contacting, and we were knocking on a door, when we heard from behind us, "Are you guys from the same congregation from here in Lomas del Sol?" We turned around to see a short Jehovah's Witness Lady. We looked at her and said, no, we're the true church. Nah, just kidding. We told her that we were missionaries from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She just said oh, and walked away. But we thought it was pretty funny haha.

Well, Gregorio fell into temptation again on Saturday due to his girlfriend. He has now decided to leaver her once and for all. He also has gotten two of his friends who live next to him in on listening to us and to stop drinking. Yesterday we went by and wrote out some goals and plans such as reading the scriptures, praying, going to church, doing the 12 Steps, etc, and had all of them sign it to confirm that they would keep the rules and help the others to stay in line.

Socorro is still going good! His learning process is a little bit slower, but he's progressing quite a bit.

My toe is doing quite a bit better. My next appointment is in a week and a half. The shoe does help a ton! I can now walk a lot better. I'm just worried that I'll forget that my toe is injured and it'll end up more swollen, but we'll see how it goes.

Mark 8:35

I love you guys! Have a great week!

-Forest

Questions:

Dad: yeah we can, I just haven't. I'll try to take one this week. (Can you still make videos and send them? or have the rules changed?)

Mom: My Mission President hasn't told me anything, and the doctor says that it looks really good. I took a picture of it this morning and sent it to you. (When do you go to the doctor again for your toe or what did he say this week and how is your mission president doing about how much you have been able to do?)

Holly: Not a ton. (Do you do a lot of service labor in your area?)

Sam: We're looking for a new one, but there aren't a ton of options.  (Did you have to move apartments?)

Dylan: Read the Book of Mormon daily. You also asked me to look for a scripture for you in you letter to me, so here it is: D&C 24:8  (How can I make my testimony stronger?)

Elder Radmall, Socorro, and Elder Antonio

Sister Claudia Grover, a member from Twin Falls, was taking a vacation to Cabo San Lucas with her sister.  She graciously offered to take a care package to Forest.  Here is what she had to say:

"We pulled up to the church just as his bus was arriving!  Perfect timing!  He had no idea what you were sending.  I told him about the shoes (made special by Ortho Pro for is ingrown toenail to heal) and he was very surprised.  I also told him about the box that is not to be opened until Christmas Eve!  He looked GREAT and Happy!  Thank you for giving me this blessing of service!"

Monday November 13th, 2017

Hey guys!

Well, first, thanks for all the love and support and your fast. My toe is getting quite a bit better. I had a doctor´s appointment on Thursday and the Doctor told me that it was super clean and that it´s improving really well. He also told me that I´m still not allowed to leave the house. But President told me that after if I´m not able to get out and work after three weeks, I´ll have to be sent home to recuperate. This is week 3. It´s driving me crazy being in the house all day, and I´m definitely not gonna come home early, so this week we´re gonna get out and work. At least a little bit. In my area there are a lot, a lot, of dirt/sandy roads, so we´re gonna try to avoid those. If my toe starts to hurt, we´ll head back to the apartment and take a rest for a little while. But that´s the plan. Cause I do not want to come home early. The doctor has not said anything to me about Epson Salt, but he gave me a liquid spray and a cream to put on it.

This week we´ve been following up like crazy with the zone. At the end of last week, the zone had 7 Baptismal Dates, and as of right now, we have 25! My companion and I have three. Gregorio-18 of Nov., Socorro-25 of Nov., and Ivan-9 of Dec. The Lord has really blessed us this week.

We´re most likely gonna be moving houses because the water pump in our apartments has its own Meter, but whoever is supposed to pay it, didn´t. So the Electric Company locked the meter for the water pump. So our brilliant apartment neighbors and "friends", moved the water pump wire to our meter about 3 and a half months ago. When the electric bill came, it was super expensive and we didn´t know why. Last week we noticed that we were paying for the water pump for the whole apartment. So we took the wire off our meter, but our neighbors have tried to put it back on twice. But because we´re in the house, all. day. we notice. They´re getting a little upset with us, but we can´t afford to pay for it. And the guy that we rent from doesn´t answer his phone...

My companion and I are getting along super great! This week I learned that he has a pet monkey! He´s also invited me to his house several times, so maybe some day I´ll be able to see his monkey.

Have a great week!

-Elder Radmall

Questions:

Dad: Not sure with the Epson Salt, and yes, clean water. (Dad: Can you get epson salt and are you using clean water to wash your feet (bottle)?

Mom: About 150 members and about 20 of them are in the primary. (Your ward, how many?  How many primary kids/youth? )

Holly: Because blessing from the Lord are worth more than money. It´s a commandment to give service. And the feelings you´ll get from giving service are worth more than money.  (Why is it important to work even when money is not involved?)

Sam: Because I didn´t go to the doctor for a couple weeks.  (Why do you think that your toe got infected? )

Dylan: An older jeep, or a half ton pickup  (What kind of car do you want when you get home?)

Tuesday November 7th, 2017

Remember the ingrown toe nail that Forest talked about in his email from yesterday...well, this is the email that he sent to his dad's email...

Here are the pics of my toe. I'll leave it up to you if you want to show them to mom or not. Also, if I'm not up to par in two weeks,  I'll be sent home to finish recuperating, so please pray for me.
Please pray for healing so that he can finish his 7 months in Mexico!!

Monday November 6th, 2017

Hey guys!

View of the city from their apartment...not too close to the beach.

This week was quite difficult! So, for the past few weeks I've had an ingrown toenail. Three weeks ago we went to the doctor to get it taken care of, but it was infected and really swollen. So they gave me some pills to take for a week. When we went back two weeks ago it was still infected so the gave me a cream to put on it. Last week we went and the actually removed the ingrown toenail, but since it was infected before, they were worried that it was still infected on the inside, so they had to remove some skin as well. So, we spent the entire week in the house, it sucked! Some elders from our district came over twice so my companion could go out and see our investigators for a couple hours this week. I have an appointment with the doctor tomorrow to see if I can finally get out and work.

The one time I got to leave the house this week was to go to our Zone Conference, which was awesome! My companion and I talked about the need and the importance of teaching repentance correctly, simply, and directly so the investigator understands the importance of it, and will have a greater desire to be baptized. I also played the song "I'll Find You my Friend" while some Sister Missionaries sang it. President Gabaldón said something that stuck out to me, "Exact obedience doesn't exist. Just obedience, and disobedience. It's not partially obedient. You're either obedient, or you're not."

This week I got a letter from the Higginsons, and a package from Maddie. Thanks for all the love and the support!

Sorry it's not a ton, but we couldn't really do much this week. I love you guys! Have a great week!

-Elder Radmall

This photo came to Alisa's phone as a text with the following conversation:
Ran into this kid in Cabo...says he knows you.  :)  I'm a Bishop in Huntington Beach, CA and my family and I met him and his companion at church.  He's doing GREAT!  Had a flip flop on with his big toe bandaged up from an ingrown toe nail or something but, was still smiling and his companion seems like a really like-able guy!  Your son is getting quite the experience.  Cabo San Lucas is much more ghetto Mexico than I anticipated but, we felt 100% safe so, put your mind at ease but, there's a lot of poverty there.    (Thank you Joe Parks!!!  What a fun surprise!!)

Questions:

Dad: It starts at 10am.  Col. Hojazen close the the UGC University  (What is the address to your Church and what time do you meet for Sacrament?)

Mom: Go to the beach  (What is the favorite thing for people in Cabo San Lucas to do in their free time?)

Holly: When is it easier to walk in the mountains, during the day with the sun, or at night without the moon? During the day. This is just like our lives with Jesus Christ. When we have Christ in our lives, we see things so much more clearly, but it we start to distance ourselves from Him, life becomes lots harder. (What is your favorite object lesson to teach investigators?)

Sam: Yes (Does the church in Cabo have basketball hoops?)

Dylan: the guitar (What instrument do you wish you knew how to play?)
